The islands are covered with evergreen tropical rainforests, mangroves and coastal vegetation. Rare and endangered species like Andaman wild pigs, saltwater crocodiles, dugongs and giant robber crabs thrive here. Over 270 species of birds have been recorded, many of them endemic-making it a birdwatcher's paradise.
